Volcanoes are produced when continental plates, floating on the Earth's molten interior, slip under or pull apart from each other. The word 'Volcano' derives from the Roman God of Fire who was named Vulcan. Continuing our evolution of volcanic inspired designs, the Montserrat incorporates opaque and transparent magma with black basalt and neutral fleck tones. The goal was to capture the visual impact of a glowing red river of lava which often has large chunks of cooled rock being carried. 9" W x 9" H
