Murrini is an Italian term for colored patterns or images made in a long rod of glass cane. The process first appeared in Mesopotamia more than 4,000 years ago and was revived by Venetian glass makers on the island of Murano in the early 16th century. The time required to create cane in the studio before incorporating it into a design is significant and the pieces that result command a very high price. Our new cane mortar is the result of a series of experiments. 6.5" W x 5.25" H
