Glaciers are large bodies of ice that form over centuries when snow accumulation exceeds melting and sublimation. Our Glacier is made up of an ice blue transparent reduction glass that is fused into a gather of virgin white. Threads of color are spun into the design which is blown and pressed into a diamond steel optic. Crystal clear casing glass completes the effect. The blue color in glaciers results from overtones created by oxygen-hydrogen bonds in water which absorb red light. 6" W x 13" H
