Yellow opaque glass powder with burnt sienna and umber transparent frit are used to simulate the color of flames. The molten transparent colors are threaded over the opaque then pressed into a diamond optic mold. This produces a ridged sculpture that refracts multiple images in the surrounding clear casing glass. The design is our impression of an uncontrolled mountain wildfire. In 2002 we moved our studio to Southern Oregon during one of the worst wildfire seasons on record. 3" W x 6.5" H
